Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Are you a passionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We’re currently recruiting for a compassionate and proactive Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive specialist school in the Robertsbridge area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant who thrives in a nurturing environment and is committed to supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism, social‑emotional difficulties, and learning disabilities.
Role
- Location: Robertsbridge, East Sussex
- Hours: Full‑time, Monday to Friday (term‑time only)
- Start date: ASAP or after October half term
- Contract type: Long‑term with potential for permanent placement
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting with daily classroom activities and adapted learning plans
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
- Providing personal care, where required
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
