About the Role
As an Outreach Support Worker, you’ll work directly with children and young people in the community, providing support either 1:1, 2:1 or in a small group. Sessions typically take place after school, at weekends, or during school holidays. We are looking for staff who can commit to working with at least 1 young person every week so they can build lasting relationships with them and their families.
Responsibilities
- Supporting young people in a variety of community-based activities
- Assisting in the planning and delivery of fun, engaging, and inclusive sessions
- Encouraging independence and building confidence
- Managing and responding to challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner
- Providing personal care where needed
- Keeping accurate records and communicating effectively with the team
What we’re Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviour
- A positive, proactive, and empathetic approach
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and school holidays
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with Business Insurance is desirable but not essential
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
