Location: Wolsingham, Durham and across the North East, UK

Hours: 4-6 hour sessions (after school, weekends, and additional hours during school holidays)

Job Type: Part-time / Flexible Hours

About the Role

As an Outreach Support Worker, you’ll work directly with children and young people in the community, providing support either 1:1, 2:1 or in a small group. Sessions typically take place after school, at weekends, or during school holidays. We are looking for staff who can commit to working with at least 1 young person every week so they can build lasting relationships with them and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting young people in a variety of community-based activities
  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of fun, engaging, and inclusive sessions
  • Encouraging independence and building confidence
  • Managing and responding to challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner
  • Providing personal care where needed
  • Keeping accurate records and communicating effectively with the team

What we’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour
  • A positive, proactive, and empathetic approach
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and school holidays
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with Business Insurance is desirable but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
