Calm and professional, our Funeral Operatives play a vital role in our service and are often the first members of the team to meet our families. A good Funeral Service Operative will be able to provide reassurance to families that we will take good care of their loved ones whilst we prepare them for their final journey.
In addition to bringing people’s loved ones into our care, Funeral Service Operatives play an active role behind the scenes, working in the mortuary, fitting coffins, and dressing the deceased; as well as participating in funeral services, pallbearing, and helping to ensure everything goes smoothly.
Your duties will include:
- Working in the mortuary, fitting coffins and dressing the deceased.
- Participating in funeral services and pallbearing.
- Driving company vehicles; a full UK driving licence is required.
- Being on the out‑of‑hours and on‑call rota, which offers opportunities to earn additional payments.
Qualifications and requirements:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Calm, professional demeanor and strong customer‑service skills.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and comply with health and safety regulations.
