We are looking for a Female Support Worker to join our Adult Services team in Poole, where you’ll play an important role supporting a young gentleman in his day-to-day life.
Job specifics

The role
Myles lives independently in his own home in Poole and communicates verbally and through visual supports (PECS, signs, gestures). He enjoys an active lifestyle – singing at karaoke nights, trips to the cinema, bowling, watching Marvel films and spending time with family. Our ideal candidate is calm, patient and confident with implementing boundaries to ensure safety. Routine and consistency are essential.
Your role will involve meaningful support: daily routines such as food preparation, shopping, personal care, medication administration, and accompanying Myles in the community. He receives 1:1 support and requires assistance with personal care, medication and meal preparation.
Hours
25 hours per week, shifts between 7am – 10pm, Monday – Sunday, including alternate weekends and sleep‑ins (additional payment).
A day in the life of a Support Worker would include:
- Sharing your skills and life knowledge to enable good life skills and independence
- Maintaining consistent and accurate records of care plans, finances, appointments and medication
- Following the support plan to help the person feel comfortable and happy, adapting as needed based on behavioural changes
- Providing personal care – hygiene prompts, bathing, medication
