We are seeking a fluent and passionate Tamil Guide to teach Tamil language and culture to our students. The ideal candidate will have native or near-native fluency in Tamil, a deep appreciation for Tamil heritage, and the ability to create engaging, age-appropriate lessons that connect children to their linguistic and cultural roots.
Responsibilities
- Teach Tamil language to Primary and Elementary students through engaging, interactive lessons
- Develop age-appropriate curriculum that includes spoken Tamil, reading, and writing
- Create a rich language environment with songs, stories, poetry, and cultural activities
- Assess student progress and maintain records of language development
- Integrate Tamil instruction with school values and Montessori principles
- Share aspects of Tamil culture, traditions, literature, and festivals with students
- • Collaborate with classroom guides to support integrated learning
- Communicate with families about language learning goals and progress
- Participate in school events, cultural celebrations, and professional development
Required Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Tamil (speaking, reading, and writing)
- Bachelor’s degree in Tamil, Education, or related field
- Experience teaching Tamil to young children preferred
- Understanding of language acquisition in early childhood
- Strong communication skills in both Tamil and English
- Ability to create engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn Montessori philosophy
