Litigation Lawyer

Are you an experienced litigation lawyer looking to step into a leadership role within a major UK financial services group? This is a rare opportunity to lead a high‑performing team responsible for volume customer litigation, while also supporting on complex and strategic contentious matters across the organisation.

We are partnering with a leading financial services business undergoing significant investment and transformation within its Legal function. The organisation is seeking a confident, commercially minded lawyer with strong people‑management skills and a passion for driving high‑quality litigation outcomes.

The Role

In this position, you will:

  • Lead and develop a team of Customer Litigation Specialists handling volume litigation, primarily Return of Goods Orders.
  • Ensure robust legal oversight and full compliance with Consumer Duty, FCA regulations, CPR, and internal policies.
  • Act as an escalation point for customer‑related correspondence and challenge cases.
  • Work closely with the Head of Litigation and senior disputes specialists on complex or high‑risk matters.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives across the litigation function to enhance efficiency and customer outcomes.

About You

You will be a:

  • Qualified lawyer, ideally with 3+ years’ PQE in financial or consumer litigation.
  • Experience in motor finance litigation is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong leader with experience managing direct reports.
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
  • Confident decision‑maker, able to manage high‑volume casework and competing priorities.
  • Knowledgeable in CCA, FCA regulations (CONC / DISP), and the Civil Procedure Rules.
  • Solutions‑focused, resilient, and committed to delivering fair customer outcomes.
