Research Assistant – £33,951 to £35,608 per annum. Research Associate – £36,636 to £42,254 per annum.
Role
Work with Prof. Paul Bushby and Prof. Tamara Rogers on the STFC‑funded project “Magnetism in Hot Jupiters”.
Responsibilities
Construct, run and analyse simulations of the outer layers of Hot Jupiters, requiring a strong theoretical background in fluid dynamics and/or magnetohydrodynamics and excellent numerical skills. Play a key role in disseminating results, requiring excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Terms
Fixed‑term for three years from the start date or until the project end, whichever is soonest. Start date on or after 1 October 2026. Flexible or blended working arrangements are possible. Generous funds are available for travel, training and other support.
