Reception Class Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Cardiff)Start Date: May 2026End Date: July 2026 (Potential to extend)Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to support young learners at the very start of their educational journey? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Cardiff.

This role is based in a Reception class, where you will play a key part in supporting children’s early development in a nurturing and engaging environment. You will be joining a supportive and forward-thinking team committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning space. The school values new ideas and offers ongoing support and feedback to help you grow professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with class activities, both in groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Assist the class teacher with preparing learning materials and resources
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Supervise pupils throughout the school day, including break times
  • Deliver small group interventions to support early literacy and numeracy development

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
  • Experience working with children (professionally or personally)

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS certificate (Child Workforce) – we can help arrange this
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Ability to provide professional references
