Role Overview
The Head of Operations manages the professional services team within the department, working across the Centre for International Education and Languages (CIEL). Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, strategic planning, project management, and resource allocation to support various academic programmes and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and managing the department’s professional services teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Providing operational leadership for business and educational activities, collaborating with CIEL colleagues and university services.
- Developing and implementing departmental and CIEL strategies.
- Managing projects to improve departmental effectiveness.
- Planning staffing and resources in response to student numbers and programme needs.
- Aligning approaches across CIEL to maximize benefits.
Candidate Profile
Successful candidates will have significant senior professional services experience, preferably within higher education, including budget management, HR, space planning, and KPI monitoring. Proven leadership, project management, strategic change management, excellent communication, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential.
Minimum Requirements
- Postgraduate or professional qualification relevant to the role.
- Experience leading large programmes and managing teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
