Locum Consultant Psychiatrist – Older Adult Inpatient

Overview

Locum Consultant Psychiatrist – Older Adult Inpatient. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to support a General Adult Inpatient team. This is a highly flexible and ongoing opportunity, with the contract anticipated to extend every 3 to 6 months based on service needs.

Responsibilities

• You will serve as a Responsible Clinician for a defined caseload of adult inpatients, providing comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and management for individuals with a range of acute mental health needs.
• You will be a leading member of the well-established multidisciplinary team, providing clinical leadership and overseeing admissions from community teams.
• The role requires participation in the consultant on-call rota, for which additional remuneration is payable.

Working pattern

The standard sessional requirement for this role is a full-time (10 PA) job plan, with a minimum of 2.5 PAs dedicated to Supporting Professional Activities (SPA).

Location

The service is located in a vibrant and well-connected town in North West England. The location offers easy access to nearby cities and the beautiful coast.

Key Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent.
• Full GMC registration and a Licence to Practise.
• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Psychiatry (or within 6 months of CCT).
• Current Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician Status.
