Principal Consultant – Risk, Regulation and Compliance
6M FTC – likely to be extended

Are you a commercially minded compliance professional who’s comfortable in the grey? I’m working with a leading UK fintech that’s building next-gen banking infrastructure — and they’re looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to support a high-priority, fast-moving initiative.
What’s this about?
This is not your typical BAU compliance role.
You’ll be embedded in a handpicked, cross-functional team tasked with launching a new proposition aimed at corporate clients and non-regulated entities — think of it as a pilot unit, operating at speed, where you’ll help build the compliance framework from scratch.
Your focus:
- Own and rework compliance standards for a brand-new proposition
- Translate regulatory obligations into practical guidance (not blockers!)
- Be the key point of contact between the compliance function and build team
- Understand the nuances of tech and different client types
- Track changes, redraft procedures, and support go-to-market activity
- Influence stakeholders including the CCO
You’ll need to bring good judgement, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to operate with ambiguity — they want someone agile, low-ego, and positive. Someone who can “hold the pen” while the business moves fast.
Must have:
- Strong understanding of FCA/PRA regs, including Payments Services Regs, BCOBS, SMCR, Consumer Duty, and more
- Experience in fintech, challenger bank, or fast-paced reg environment
- A track record in building or adapting compliance frameworks
- A commercial mindset: understanding how to enable, not restrict
- Comfort working on propositions targeting non-regulated corporates
- Strong communication skills and great judgement
