The Role
As a Senior AI Enablement Engineer, you will be a key technical leader and practitioner in our evolution toward an AI‑native business. You will champion and implement AI‑assisted development practices, mentor teams, and drive meaningful improvements in how we build software. Your work will involve adopting cutting‑edge AI tools and platforms, ensuring our engineers excel with them, and translating technical gains into product value.
Key Responsibilities
- Pioneer Advanced Engineering Practices: Shape and refine our engineering discipline for the AI age, introducing new workflows that are faster, more creative, and uniquely suited to AI‑powered development.
- Teach, Coach & Mentor: Serve as a go‑to expert on AI development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Codex, Cursor, Kiro, etc.) through pairing sessions, code reviews, and hands‑on guidance.
- Lead by Example: Remain a hands‑on, high‑skill developer embedded in teams, modelling best practices and solving complex problems with AI tools.
- Champion AI‑Powered Development: Drive the adoption of AI‑first methodologies with a pragmatic and persistent approach, fostering a culture of curiosity and innovation.
- Translate Technical Gains to Product Value: Articulate the impact of AI‑powered methods—from productivity gains to enhanced capabilities—to product and engineering stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Technical Leader & Mentor: Hands‑on coder who is equally adept at guiding and influencing peers.
- Technically Excellent: Proven experience building high‑quality production software in .NET, Java, Python, or another common backend language.
- AI Tool Expert: Deep, practical experience with generative AI and AI‑assisted development tools; able to maximise their impact in a professional development environment.
- Workflow Innovator: Comfortable rethinking the entire development lifecycle to unlock greater potential.
- Passionate Technologist: Fully bought into the AI paradigm shift, with relentless pursuit of technical excellence.
- Effective Communicator: Strong communication skills to discuss complex technical concepts with engineers, collaborate with product managers, and demonstrate value.
