Overview

Solution Architect (Zero Trust Data Format) – Defence – Contract – Outside IR35, Farnborough/Hybrid, £700-800 per day.

Responsibilities

You’ll lead solution design from user requirements through architecture, assurance, and implementation. The role combines hands-on technical contribution with architectural ownership, working across both hardware and software-based cross-domain approaches.

You’ll apply NCSC patterns and guidance for secure data transfer, assess product marketplaces, define bespoke components, and communicate complex designs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Cross Domain Solution design, testing, and assurance
• Zero Trust Data Format
• NCSC guidance for secure data import and export
• MOD systems and assurance processes
• Strong cryptography and PKI knowledge
• Secure, hardened systems in regulated or air-gapped environments

VMware Cloud Foundation, Windows Server/Desktop, containerisation, PKI, HSMs, micro-segmentation, microservices, zero-trust principles, and secure networking.

Experience with Defence Digital, data-centric security, hardsec cross domain appliances, and cloud automation is highly desirable.
