Head of Finance

Bedfordshire

Up to £99,000 subject to experience plus benefits

T2M Resourcing has been retained by a highly successful engineering/manufacturing company seeking a Head of Finance to join the UK leadership team. The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant, passionate about improving processes, systems, and people, ensuring financial control, value-added reporting, and compliance for a scalable future. We seek a hands-on, robust character with enthusiasm and a positive attitude to support change, lead, and develop a fit-for-purpose finance department. Responsibilities include:

Key responsibilities of the Head of Finance include:

• Preparing management and statutory accounts in IFRS compliance.
• Analyzing financial performance against budgets, and preparing reports for management to inform commercial decisions.
• Collaborating with the leadership team to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Managing general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Leading and developing a small finance team.
• Overseeing costing and stock management.
• Ensuring statutory returns are completed and submitted timely.
• Managing CAPEX planning and implementation.
• Liaising with auditors, answering queries, and implementing actions.
• Developing systems and processes with a continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications and experience required:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
• A proactive, positive, and 'can do' attitude, capable of supporting and challenging management teams.
• Experience in an accounting firm and manufacturing environment, demonstrating strong technical and operational skills.
• Up-to-date with IFRS standards and capable of producing accurate, timely accounts.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead and inspire.
• Experience in product costing and stock management.
• Ability to produce budgets and forecasts that add value.
• Flexible, agile, and experienced in leading change and transformation.
• Experience with systems implementation is desirable.
• Experience working with PE-backed businesses is advantageous.
