Our client is a well established organisation with a national remit and is now seeking a Head of Finance to lead its finance function and support strategic decision making at a senior level. This role will play a key part in ensuring strong financial governance, high quality reporting and effective financial planning across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the finance function, ensuring robust financial planning and control
- Lead the development of annual budgets, forecasts and financial modelling to support organisational priorities
- Deliver clear and timely financial information to senior leaders and governance forums
- Oversee year‑end processes, statutory reporting and external audit activity
- Translate complex financial data into accessible insight for non‑finance stakeholders
- Lead, develop and support a high‑performing finance team
- Ensure effective financial systems, processes and risk management are in place
- Build strong working relationships across the organisation and with external partners
Qualifications
- Fully qualified accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA
- Strong experience of budgeting, financial modelling and forecasting
- Ability to operate strategically while maintaining excellent attention to detail
- Proven experience leading and developing teams
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups
- Strong planning, problem‑solving and time‑management skills
- A values‑led approach, demonstrating integrity, transparency and a commitment to inclusive working practices
