Indirect Tax Senior Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Indirect Tax Senior Manager to join a leading regional accounting firm with a strong presence across Cheltenham, Bristol, and Cardiff. The role will suit a driven VAT specialist who enjoys a mix of advisory work, client leadership, and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a portfolio of VAT and other indirect tax advisory projects across a wide range of sectors, including owner-managed businesses, corporate groups, and not-for-profit organisations.
• Provide technical guidance on complex VAT matters such as partial exemption, land and property transactions, cross-border trading, and group structuring.
• Review advisory reports and client communications, ensuring technical accuracy and commercial insight.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser and point of contact for strategic tax planning.
• Support partners with business development opportunities, proposals, and firm-wide initiatives to grow the indirect tax service line.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, contributing to their technical and professional development.

About You:

• CTA, ACA, or equivalent qualification with significant experience in UK VAT and indirect taxes.
• Proven track record in delivering complex advisory work and leading client engagements.
• Commercially minded, with strong communication and relationship management skills.
• Motivated by the opportunity to help shape and grow a regional VAT offering within a collaborative, forward-thinking firm.
