Job Description

Amazon is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join its Global Tax Calculation Services Program (Tax Engine). The Tax Engine team consists of tax professionals and software engineers responsible for providing comprehensive global transaction tax calculation solutions, including sales and use taxes, value-added taxes, goods and services taxes, and other consumption taxes to Amazon and thousands of merchants on Amazon marketplaces.

This role primarily focuses on North America, with potential opportunities for broader regional exposure.

Primary Responsibilities

• On-board new use cases and businesses to the Tax Engine
• Draft technical requirements for taxpayer registrations, tax rules, reporting, and testing
• Research and implement improvements to the Tax Engine
• Collaborate with commerce platform teams to advise and configure Tax Engine services
• Manage product administration and project lifecycle from requirements to testing
• Handle tax escalations and resolutions
• Configure systems based on tax guidance and research
• Develop and maintain processes for program management

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in a large public accounting firm or multinational corporate tax department

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with transaction tax software (e.g., Vertex)
