Newly Qualified General Practitioner (within 2 years of CCT completion) required to work autonomously across five practices within the Riverview Health PCN.

Job Summary

Employing a GP to provide primary care services, including surgery, telehealth, home visits, and extended hours. Independent practice with a responsibility for clinical governance, patient safety and quality of care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide face‑to‑face, telephone and online consultations, including home visits when required.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Develop care plans and provide counselling and health education.
  • Record consultation notes to agreed standards and issue prescriptions.
  • Manage repeat prescriptions, authorise them and handle queries and correspondence promptly.
  • Participate in on‑call, extended hours and hub working as scheduled.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, audits and evidence‑based practice.
  • Apply Practice policies, standards and guidance and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  • Work collaboratively with PCN staff, colleagues and other agencies to manage patient needs.

Qualifications

  • Qualified GP with MRCGP or equivalent JCPTGP and full GMC registration.
  • National Performers List registration (England) and appropriate defence indemnity.
  • Evidence of current GP validation and last appraisal.
  • Eligibility to practice independently in the UK.

Experience and Skills

  • Experience working in a primary care environment and with QOF and clinical audit.
  • Experience with medicines management, ICB initiatives and primary care contract.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and written communication skills.
  • Competent in EMIS, Office and Outlook with strong IT skills.
  • Effective time‑management, problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Employment Details

  • Pay: £9,500 to £10,500 per session.
  • Contract: Permanent.
  • Working pattern: Full‑time, flexible.
