A prestigious industrial contractor operating in environment, defence and energy sectors are currently looking for a Civil Works Design Manager with Waste to Energy plants experience, working on a waste treatment and recovery plant project in Scotland.
Our consulting client and expert services is a major contractor within the construction & engineering industry with over 100 years’ experience, with a current turnover of over £500m.
The candidate will be responsible for the design function of the project whilst reporting to the area director.
The successful candidates main Duties and Responsibilities will consist of:
- Provide advice and guidance on the “buildability” of the design proposals to the design and construction teams on all packages
- Lead the development and management of the design deliverables programme
- Lead gate reviews activities to ensure that they are timely and appropriate sign off is achieved at each project gate
- Lead the co-ordination and production of design data, reports and documentation essential to the project and contractual requirements and report progress against the design deliverables programme
- Proactively contribute to the Risk and Value Management process
- 1 year contract with competitive day rate. Company is also working on other major projects around the U.K. therefore possibility for contract extension.
