Your Mission
As the VP Global Performance & People Development, you will be a strategic leader responsible for shaping and implementing BMG's global vision for employee performance, growth, and organizational development. You will design and execute innovative strategies that enhance employee capabilities, drive a culture of continuous learning, and ensure our people are equipped to achieve both personal and company objectives on a global scale. This role is pivotal in fostering a vibrant, high‑performing, and inclusive environment where music creators and industry leaders alike can thrive. This is a 12m FTC covering maternity leave.
What You'll Be Doing
- Strategy & Vision: Develop and implement a comprehensive global strategy for performance management, learning, talent development, succession planning, and leadership development that aligns with BMG’s overall business goals and values.
- Performance Management: Design, optimise, and oversee global performance review frameworks and processes, ensuring they are fair, objective, and support continuous feedback and goal alignment.
- Learning & Development Excellence: Lead the strategy, design, and delivery of innovative global learning programmes, including BMG Campus initiatives, digital learning platforms, and bespoke training solutions. Foster a continuous learning culture by identifying skill gaps, curating relevant content, and implementing engaging learning methodologies to enhance employee capabilities at all levels.
- Internal Talent & Leadership Development: Lead the creation and delivery of cutting‑edge development programmes, including mentorship systems, upskilling workshops, and tailored training initiatives through platforms such as BMG Campus and Bertelsmann University, to build strong leadership pipelines and foster career growth across all levels.
- Succession Planning & Career Pathing: Establish robust succession planning processes and career mapping tools to identify, nurture, and prepare internal talent for future critical roles, ensuring long‑term organisational stability and growth.
- Organisational Culture: Act as a key architect of BMG’s culture, designing initiatives that promote collaboration, innovation and engagement, and reinforcing our values of fairness, transparency and entrepreneurial spirit globally.
- Employee Engagement & Retention: Develop and implement strategies to measure and enhance employee engagement, ensuring a positive employee experience that attracts, retains and motivates top talent worldwide.
- HR Technology & Analytics: Leverage HR technology and data‑driven insights to measure the effectiveness of people development and learning programmes, track performance metrics, and inform strategic decision‑making.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with the CHRO, Executive Board, Global Strategy Committee and local HR teams to ensure global people initiatives are effectively localised and implemented.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and develop a global team of people development professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance within the Global People Development department.
What We Are Looking For
- Extensive progressive experience in Human Resources leadership, with significant time focused on global performance, learning and talent development in an international, high‑growth environment.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing global performance management systems, comprehensive learning & development strategies and succession planning initiatives.
- Strong understanding of modern HR practices, organisational psychology, adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust across diverse cultures and seniority levels.
- A collaborative and open‑minded leadership style, with a demonstrated ability to coach, empower and develop teams.
- Experience with HR technology platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS) and data analytics to drive insights and programme effectiveness.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion principles and experience integrating them into people strategies.
- Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organisational development, business administration or a related field; master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPTD, ATD) highly desirable.
