The Opportunity:
A Private Equity–backed, international multi-asset consumer group is seeking a high-calibre Group Financial Accountant to join its expanding finance function at a pivotal point in its journey.
The business generates £1bn+ in turnover and £200m+ EBITDA, with consistent year-on-year growth driven by a highly active M&A strategy alongside strong organic performance. With an exit or listing targeted within the next three years, this role offers exposure to a fast-moving, acquisitive environment with genuine value-creation focus.
The Role:
Reporting into an experienced Group Financial Controller, the Group Financial Accountant will play a central role in keeping the “engine room” of the finance function running smoothly while helping to modernise, scale and professionalise the group finance capability.
Working closely with senior finance leaders across the business, this individual will own core group reporting and compliance activities, support FP&A, enhance controls and data quality, and act as a key partner through audits, acquisitions and integration activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of group financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly and annual consolidations
- Leading and coordinating the external audit process across multiple international entities
- Ensuring robust statutory reporting and ongoing compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Supporting FP&A with high-quality financial data, analysis and insight
- Driving improvements in financial controls, processes and systems as the group scales
- Supporting M&A activity, including acquisition accounting and post-deal integration
- Acting as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders across group and regional finance teams
The Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / CA / ACCA or equivalent)
- Strong audit background, ideally with experience auditing large-cap or complex international organisations
- Private Equity–backed business experience highly advantageous
- Technically strong, with the ability to operate comfortably across reporting, controls, compliance and data
- Proven capability to thrive in a fast‑paced, demanding and international environment
- Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, yet commercially aware and growth‑minded
