Overview
Business Analyst – Energy Trading (LNG, Power & Commodities) | Location: London (Hybrid) | Contract Type: Interim / Contract (6–12 months)
On behalf of our client – a leading energy trading business with a strong presence across LNG, Power, and Commodities – we are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a range of strategic and operational initiatives. This is a high-impact contract role suited to someone with deep domain knowledge and a track record of delivering in fast-paced trading environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with trading desks and commercial teams to gather and analyse business requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear functional specifications and user stories for technology teams.
- Support the development and enhancement of trading systems, data platforms, and reporting tools.
- Lead workshops, process reviews, and stakeholder interviews to drive clarity and alignment.
- Contribute to regulatory, digital transformation, and operational efficiency projects.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within energy trading, commodities, or financial markets.
- Strong understanding of trading workflows, market data, and risk management.
- Familiarity with ETRM systems (e.g., Endur, Allegro, Trayport) and analytical tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Power BI).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver value in a contract setting.
- Exposure to LNG, power, or broader commodity markets.
- Experience with regulatory frameworks (REMIT, EMIR, MiFID II).
- Background in agile delivery and cloud-based platforms.
