Base pay range

VAT Compliance Tax Analyst – International Indirect Tax

Location: London or Manchester (On-Site) | Approx. £62,000 - £75,000 (Dependent on Experience)

A top tech company with a diverse international footprint is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic VAT Compliance Tax Analyst to join its International Indirect Tax Compliance team.

This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and dynamic environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions, with a particular focus on the FRITES region and Italy. The role includes preparing VAT declaration corrections, supporting VAT audits, and assisting with internal and external compliance processes.

You’ll need strong data analysis skills, a good understanding of financial systems, and technical accounting awareness. Taking ownership of your work and being comfortable working independently will be essential to your success.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, review, and submit VAT corrective declarations across the FRITES region
Prepare and submit Intrastat and ECSL returns as needed
Assist with tax authority queries, including liaising with internal departments and drafting responses
Provide support for internal and external audits, including VAT-related data analysis
Collect and prepare data for annual Italian VAT returns
Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for VAT compliance processes

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3+ years’ experience in a VAT advisory or VAT compliance role
Solid understanding of VAT principles
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Italian or French is an advantage
Strong ownership mentality with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Ability to manage tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment
Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative setting
Eagerness to learn, with a positive "can-do" attitude
Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
