Job Overview

As Finance Manager, you will play a key role in leading the day-to-day financial operations of the group. You will oversee a team of 6 and be responsible for both financial and management accounts aswell as the credit control and accounts payable functions, ensuring efficient working capital management.

This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional with strong technical skills and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment along with management experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts for the UK and international subsidiaries.
• Manage the year-end statutory accounts process, ensuring timely and accurate filings in all jurisdictions.
• Lead the group consolidation process for monthly reporting and year-end statutory purposes.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
• Ensure compliance with UK and international statutory and tax requirements, including VAT, Corporation Tax, and payroll taxes.
• Manage any necessary registrations and certifications relevant for overseas entities.

Management Information & Analysis

• Deliver accurate and timely internal financial reports to support decision-making.
• Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to senior management.
• Lead reconciliation of pay and bill process outputs to ensure GP is accurate each month.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes.

Operational Finance

• Oversee the accounts payable and credit control functions, ensuring effective supplier and debtor management.
• Frequent reviews of debtor ledger, identifying risks early and review of client credit checks.
• Daily management of all cashflow and Invoice Discounting facility to ensure effective working capital management.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Improve and streamline financial processes and systems to support business growth.
• Review staff payroll, including preparation of commission calculations.

International & Group Responsibilities

• Maintain oversight of international subsidiaries’ financial compliance and reporting.
• Coordinate with local advisors to ensure compliance with in-country regulations.
• Support the setup of financial operations in new markets as required.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and UK GAAP.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and consolidations across multiple entities/countries.
• Proven experience in a similar finance manager role, ideally within a fast-paced or international business.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems
• Experience in the recruitment or professional services sector.
• Familiarity with overseas tax and statutory frameworks (e.g., Switzerland, Netherlands, US, etc.)
• Experience leading or mentoring junior finance team members.
