As a VAT Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of VAT compliance across a varied client base, including SMEs, large corporates, property businesses, and international groups. You will ensure that VAT returns and associated submissions are accurate, timely, and HMRC-compliant, while also supporting Partners with advisory work where needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end VAT compliance process for a portfolio of UK and international clients
Review complex VAT returns, partial exemption calculations, and support MTD processes
Liaise with clients directly to gather information, clarify queries, and provide compliance support
Provide technical guidance on VAT regulations, working closely with Partners on audits and HMRC inspections
Support with VAT registration, de-registration, and international VAT matters
Assist in identifying risk areas and process improvements within the VAT function
Keep up to date with UK and EU VAT legislation and share insights with internal teams and clients

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in a VAT Manager role.
Strong technical understanding of UK VAT compliance and partial exemption
Excellent organisational and client communication skills
A proactive mindset and ability to manage deadlines across multiple clients
ATT/CTA qualified (or equivalent experience) preferred
Experience with VAT software (e.g., AlphaVAT, CCH, or similar) is a plus
