Information Security Architect | On-site – Aldermaston

Up to £90 per hour via Umbrella

ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client plays a vital role in the UK's defence infrastructure, operating within one of the most secure and regulated environments in the country. Due to increasing demands across high-impact IT and infrastructure programmes, they are seeking a Cyber Security Architectural Lead to provide specialist oversight, assurance, and leadership in all areas of information risk and security architecture.

THE INFORMATION SECURITY ARCHITECT ROLE:

• Act as the primary security architecture lead for complex IT systems and programmes
• Develop and apply security architecture principles aligned with HMG, MoD, and NCSC standards
• Guide solution architects on embedding security controls and designs across project lifecycles
• Review and assure high/low-level solution designs for compliance and risk mitigation
• Facilitate system accreditations and interface with NCSC and other national authorities
• Conduct technical risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and IT Health Checks
• Lead Security Working Groups and represent security interests in cross-functional settings
• Provide leadership in embedding security architecture best practices across the wider team

INFORMATION SECURITY ARCHITECT ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Strong background as a Security Architect in secure or classified environments
• Deep understanding of security frameworks, architecture methodologies, and enterprise-level security principles
• Experience working with HMG, MoD, and NCSC guidance and accreditation processes
• Demonstrable experience in developing and assuring secure designs and technical risk assessments
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
