We’re looking for

Senior Backend Developer

Role: As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be part of the team that develops the backend components of all Bitfinex services (main trading application, Lightning Network support, Blockchain integrations, etc.). This includes:

• New products and features to provide a professional trading experience, developed and deployed using agile methodologies.
• Scalability: ensure backend services remain smooth, responsive, and real-time as the platform grows, including the Bitfinex API.
• Security: build API services and backend processes with high security principles to protect users.

What You Bring to the Table

• Exceptional Node/JavaScript skills
• Familiarity with microservices architecture
• Experience participating in development of a complex platform
• Experience with databases (MySQL, MongoDB)
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Good understanding of security practices

Other Valuable Skills

• Experience with blockchain integration
• High-availability concepts
• Ruby, Rust or C++ skills are a plus
• Knowledge of Redis (queues), caches and job queues
