They are at the forefront of climate tech, and collaborate with businesses, to offer in the moment sustainability solutions to help make the world cleaner and greener. Working with world renowned and leading and trusted sustainability NGO’s and leading carbon platforms, they are helping fund certified tree planting, stopping ocean bound plastic, verified carbon reduction & removal projects to help deliver ESG and science-based net-zero targets.

The Role:
As a vital member of the engineering team, you’ll primarily engage in backend development,
collaborating closely with the Frontend Engineer. Your partnership with the frontend team will be
essential in creating cohesive and effective solutions. You will be responsible for system level
architecture and infrastructure ensuring that our platform is reliable. You’ll also work alongside the
product team to ideate and implement solutions that balance complexity, efficiency, and
Philosophy:
– They prioritize building core functionalities in-house, seamlessly integrating SaaS or Open
Source tools for additional features.
Technical Environment:
- Our backend primarily utilizes Python, with Ruby for testing and a microservice
- They utilize MongoDB for database, Nuxt a vue based framework for our frontend,
- services paired with Google Cloud Platform for hosting, and a number of third
- services such as Super Token, Stripe, Make.com and many others.
Reporting Structure:
– This role reports directly to the Chief Product Officer, who oversees engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop robust backend systems and services for new features and maintain existing ones.
- Manage system level architecture and deployments as well as engineering best practices.
- Make informed decisions on whether to build solutions in-house or integrate existing ones.
- What We’re Looking For:
- A proven track record of delivering products and effective collaboration in a small team.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Python, Ruby, or Node, and comfortability with
- inheriting a Python codebase.
- Experience in backend development for B2B technology products.
- Experience with deployments, microservices, containers, and automated tests
- Ability to make strategic decisions balancing rapid deployment and long-term engineering
Bonus Points:
- Front End development experience, particularly with Vue.js.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform deployments.
- Having been the sole engineer on a project or app, regardless of its size
