Fortius Clinic are expanding their Scrub team. We are currently hiring a new Lead Scrub Practitioner to join us on a full-time permanent basis in London.

This is to work on average 37.5 hours per week (162.5 hours per month). Surgical Centre based in Marylebone, London. Up to £57,000 – negotiable depending on experience. Work flexibly Monday – Saturday across our theatre sites. Start as early as 07:00 or finish as late as 22:00.

Purpose of Job: The purpose of this role is to manage and coordinate the safe and efficient delivery of perioperative care within a defined clinical specialty in a private orthopaedic surgical centre. The role involves leading both clinical practice and operational planning, ensuring that surgical lists are appropriately staffed, resourced, and executed to the highest standards. Acting as a key point of leadership, the post-holder supports service improvement, promotes patient safety, and contributes to the professional development of the theatre team, while ensuring compliance with hospital policies, clinical governance, and patient experience standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical practice and operational planning for perioperative care within a defined clinical specialty in a private orthopaedic surgical centre.
  • Ensure surgical lists are appropriately staffed, resourced, and executed to high standards.
  • Act as a key point of leadership to support service improvement and patient safety.
  • Contribute to the professional development of the theatre team and ensure compliance with hospital policies and clinical governance.

Qualifications

  • Active NMC/ HCPC registration.
  • Qualified Surgical First Assistant.
  • Experience of tight budgetary management including Profit and Loss accountability.
  • Educated to degree level with considerable further professional development.
  • ILS Qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in operating theatre setting with specific orthopaedic and spinal scrub skills.
  • Strong organisational and communications skills.
  • Demonstrable experience of driving growth.
  • Proven ability to lead a multi-functional team.
  • Mentorship/Practice Assessor.
  • Evidence of clinical reasoning skills across a varied patient case mix.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build professional relationships.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

Ideal

  • ALS Qualification.
