Solicitor/Legal Executive – Family Law – Newport – 2+ Years PQE
Location: Newport
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (with hybrid flexibility)
Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 (depending on experience)
The Role
You’ll be responsible for managing a mixed caseload of family law matters, including:
- Providing legal advice and representation in divorce and finance cases
- Preparing and drafting legal documents, statements, and pleadings
- Attending client conferences, hearings and conferences with counsel
- Conducting your own advocacy and representing clients at court hearings
- Meeting time and fee targets
- Keeping up to date with developments in family law practice and procedures
Candidate Requirements
- At least 2 years PQE in Family Law (applications from NQ with 2 years’ family law experience also considered)
- Good knowledge of public funding regulations and LAA procedures
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
- Commercial awareness and motivation to generate new work and encourage cross‑referrals
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems
- Law Society Family Law Panel and/or Resolution accreditation (or willingness to work towards accreditation)
- A collaborative and team‑oriented approach
