Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support the UK Safety+ and Retail & Leisure Operations teams in delivering high-quality health and safety advice, assurance, and auditing services across a large and diverse retail and leisure property portfolio.

The role covers approximately 130 sites nationwide and requires significant travel across the UK. You will play a key role in ensuring statutory compliance, best practice, and continuous improvement across this portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical health and safety advice to internal teams, managing agents, and clients across the retail and leisure portfolio
  • Carry out health and safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across c.130 sites nationwide
  • Support operational teams in the implementation and monitoring of health and safety management systems
  • Advise on compliance with relevant legislation including HSWA, CDM, fire safety, contractor management, and risk management
  • Review incidents, accidents, and near misses, providing investigation support and corrective action plans
  • Support the development and delivery of health and safety training and guidance
  • Work closely with stakeholders including property managers, retailers, contractors, and clients to promote a strong safety culture
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and portfolio-wide safety strategies

About You

  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within retail, leisure, property, or a multi-site environment
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practice
  • Comfortable managing a large, geographically dispersed portfolio with extensive travel
  • Experience delivering audits, inspections, and advisory services
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities

Desirable Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable)
  • Membership of IOSH (or working towards)
