About the Role
We are currently recruiting for the position of Senior Electronics Engineer at Edinburgh. This position is full-time.
Ideally, you will be qualified to degree level or equivalent and have at least 5 years’ experience in electronic design, with a strong background in mathematics. You will be a talented all-rounder with both digital and analogue design skills and be comfortable working within a multi‑disciplined design and development team. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, strong problem‑solving and creativity skills, honesty and integrity, an eagerness to learn, and a high level of personal motivation, drive, and energy.
Key Requirements
- Digital systems design and integration
- Analogue signal design and integration
- Microcontroller design and programming
- Embedded software development
- CUDA experience
Duties will include
- Requirements definition for new products or improvements to existing products
- Schematic design for electronic circuits across a product range involving measurement sensors, microcontrollers, processors, FPGA, PSUs, Ethernet, and other communication interfaces
- Producing PCB layouts or preparing PCB layout information for sub‑contract manufacturers
- Preparing manufacturing documentation for circuit boards and liaising with sub‑contractors and the manufacturing department
- Defining and undertaking design qualification and manufacturing acceptance requirements
- Ensuring designs are tested in accordance with requirement specifications, including active involvement in fault analysis, non‑compliance resolution, and presenting solutions
- Preparing design documentation, undertaking design reviews, and managing version and release control in line with ISO9001 requirements
- Developing diagnostic tools for products and related sub‑systems using appropriate toolsets such as MATLAB
- Proactively researching and proposing new designs and technologies for future development
