Responsibilities

• Design discrete structural packages, producing reports, calculation packages, and specifications.
• Supervise technicians in producing clear 3D models and drawings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create coordinated design solutions.
• Communicate design solutions verbally, through sketching, drawing, writing, and presentations.
• Visit construction sites to inspect progress and assess existing structures.
• Report directly to the lead structural engineer and engage with external consultants.
• Take responsibility for designs, be proactive, and support less experienced team members.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree and progressing towards Chartered status (MIStructE / MICE).
• Working knowledge of structural engineering principles and Eurocodes.
• Developing understanding of analytical techniques and design software.
• Interest in low‑carbon design and assessment of embodied carbon.
• Willingness to take responsibility, be proactive, and support junior colleagues.
• Security clearance required prior to appointment.
