Role overview

Commercial Associate will work on business development, partnerships and key client opportunities, supporting the CEO and CCO directly.

Responsibilities

  • Support the CEO and CCO directly on business development, partnerships and key client opportunities.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to inform go-to-market strategy.
  • Prepare client-facing proposals, presentations and commercial documentation.
  • Manage pipeline data, contracts and reporting to ensure smooth deal execution.
  • Work closely with product, operations and marketing teams to deliver on commercial goals.
  • Attend conferences and webinars supporting Rio's business development and thought leadership.

Role requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, geography, economics, mathematics, or any commercially focussed disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to use initiative and work independently, taking ownership of projects and tasks.
  • 1 year of experience in a commercial position such as Founder's Associate, Commercial Analyst, Business Development Associate, Sales Operations or Revenue Operations.
  • Familiarity managing social media (LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram etc.) for any brand.
  • 1 year of experience working directly with customers in a networking setting.

Nice to have

  • Experience in a fast-paced start up environment, i.e tech, sustainability, etc.
  • Experience of Hubspot.
