Planner / Senior Planner - Tier 1 Main Contractor

Overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planner / Senior Planner to join a Tier 1 main contractor, working across multiple projects in the Residential, Education and BSR sectors. The role will involve a combination of production planning (site-based) and preconstruction support, with a key focus on maintaining and developing programmes on live projects.

This is a hands on planning role, offering the chance to work across a portfolio of projects (typically £30m to £150m) while engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Update and monitor fully integrated project programmes, implementing change over the lifecycle of each scheme.


• Undertake in-depth programme analysis, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending mitigation actions.


• Develop optimum working programmes covering design, procurement, enabling works, construction, commissioning and handover.


• Chair and minute programme, logistics and delivery workshops.


• Capture as-built progress data and report on project status to senior management.


• Work collaboratively with project teams and supply chain specialists to confirm suitable methodology and sequencing.


• Communicate programme requirements clearly to all stakeholders, including clients and their representatives.

Requirements

• Strong planning experience gained in a live construction site environment.


• Proficient in Asta Powerproject.


• A solid technical knowledge of building/construction.


• Good knowledge of UK construction contracts.

This role would suit a Planner or Senior Planner seeking progression on complex, high value projects with a market leading main contractor.
