Our client is Newcastle is looking for a Senior planner to join the team on a four year fixed term contract. As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with project milestones, contractual obligations, and resource availability. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to monitor progress, identify risks, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain integrated EPC schedules using Primavera P6, covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
- Collaborate with project managers, discipline leads, and subcontractors to gather input and validate schedule logic.
- Perform critical path analysis, float management, and scenario planning to support project strategy.
- Monitor progress against baseline schedules and produce regular updates, forecasts, and variance reports.
- Support earned value management (EVM) and performance tracking.
- Identify schedule risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and present schedule reports to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Ensure compliance with contractual scheduling requirements and project controls standards.
- Support claims and change management processes with time impact analysis (TIA).
- Mentor junior planners and contribute to continuous improvement of planning practices.
- Required Skills & Experience:Minimum 10+ years of planning experience in EPC environments, ideally in energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle, work breakdown structures (WBS), and resource-loaded schedules.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMI-SP, AACE PSP) are a plus.
