Project Engineer

Portishead, North Somerset, Southwest England. - Permanent

A permanent Project Engineer role, based in our Portishead, North Somerset.

The Project Engineer directly reports to the assigned Senior Project Engineer and will be responsible for producing all technical solutions, designs, and engineering of onsite lifting operations, including transportation, load-out, marine transportation, and load-ins. The successful candidate will have experience in engineering hydraulic gantry installations and crane lifting projects. Other responsibilities may include engineering and planning of transportation projects (using SPMT and modular conventional systems), barge load-outs and load-ins, and jack and skid installations.

The Project Engineer is accountable for:

• Acting as a point of contact for the customer and site operation teams.
• Using expertise to devise smart engineering solutions for heavy lifting and transportation projects.
• Conducting site visits and providing conceptual solutions for lifting operations.
• Preparing and selecting engineering statements, both existing and renewed.
• Developing drawings, calculations, visualizations, manuals, risk assessments, and other key documents.
• Ensuring efficient execution that delivers the right results for the customer, with a focus on safety and quality.
• Maintaining high levels of document quality and control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Attending site visits to assess customer requirements and during operations to manage and motivate the team.
