Overview
Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Core Java Developer to join a well known trading firm. No experience of finance is needed; finance isn’t what this firm does, tech is.
Our client is an innovative tech-driven trading company (Equities and ETFs) with a pioneering big data technology platform. They have assembled a top team from across the financial markets and are looking to expand to meet high demand from clients. Their trading capital is in the multi-millions, not a “three guys in a shed” operation.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work as a top-tier Java developer with a passion for solving engineering problems and delivering business functionality (around 7 years of Java development experience).
- Design and implement software with real input into business offerings.
- Contribute to the evolution of the product and its architecture; projects will have a visible impact.
- Operate in an agile, fast-paced, test-driven environment; evangelise and prototype new technologies and approaches.
Qualifications
- Experienced in Core Java
- Highly motivated
- Delivery-focused and accountable
- Ideally experienced in server-side multi-threaded Java; if you haven’t been siloed in a big firm, that’s not a barrier.
Desirable / Additional exposure
- Tech Stack you will learn: Hadoop and Flink
- Involvement in the Java community

Location: London, United Kingdom. Home work is encouraged, but you will need to be able to come to the City if needed.
