Base pay range
Watford – Hybrid (3 days in office)
Up to £80,000 + on-call allowance

Their BI function supports both internal teams and external partners through robust analytics and reporting infrastructure.
The Role
This role will sit at the frontline of BI support—owning the resolution of issues across Power BI, DAX, SQL, and cloud data orchestration tools. As Lead Data Support Engineer, you will be the primary internal point of contact for Power BI application support, troubleshooting and debugging issues across data pipelines, dashboards, and orchestration tools. You will also coordinate with an offshore third-party support provider and report into the Head of BI.
Key responsibilities in the role
- Investigate and resolve bugs in Power BI reports using DAX and SQL
- Support platform stability across orchestration tools such as AWS Glue and Airflow
- Troubleshoot failed data jobs in Redshift and Glue
- Act as first-line support for internal Power BI users
- Liaise with offshore partners to ensure issue resolution and continuity
What You’ll Bring
- Strong technical ability in DAX and SQL, with experience debugging Power BI reports
- Understanding of data orchestration tools (e.g. Glue, Airflow) and cloud-based pipelines
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues within modern data platforms
- Experience working in BI, analytics support, or DataOps functions
- Comfortable taking ownership of support workflows and working across teams
