Responsibilities

  • Investigating, debugging, and resolving software issues across multiple projects.
  • Supporting in-service software on secure systems for both land and naval platforms.
  • Administering and configuring Linux systems (RedHat / Ubuntu), including kernel-level changes.
  • Collaborating with project teams to deliver updates, patches, and technical support.
  • Producing clear documentation and explaining technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong coding background in C / C++ (Ada, JavaScript, or shell scripting would be an advantage).
  • Experience with Linux OS administration (RedHat or Ubuntu; kernel-level knowledge highly desirable).
  • Ability to investigate and debug complex software issues.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work across multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical issues into clear explanations.
  • Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
