We are partnered with a PE backed, global digital advertising agency based in Central London and are looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join the team. This is a great opportunity to work as the number 2 to the Group FC, influencing FX strategy, exit strategy, refinancing and change outside of BAU.
Responsibilities
- Consolidate financial data from various subsidiaries and regional business units into a single, unified report for the Group under multi-book scenarios.
- Prepare accurate and compliant consolidated financial statements, including annual reports, for internal and external reporting.
- Ensure all Group entities adhere to local and international accounting standards (GAAP and IFRS) in accordance with the company’s accounting policies.
- Oversee and assist with statutory audits across multiple jurisdictions within the Group.
- Coordinate, develop, and update written policies and procedures over the financial reporting process.
- Perform technical analyses of contracts that fall outside the company’s standard arrangements, collaborating with independent experts as needed.
- Take ownership of the month-end close process for the Group, reviewing regional P&Ls and Balance Sheets and investigating variances.
- Prepare consolidated management accounts (under Budget and Actual currency rates) and board slides for the board of directors and senior management.
- Identify opportunities to improve the Group’s finance procedures and controls, with the aim of enhancing period-end close speed, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and improving the Statutory year-end experience.
- Keep up to date with interest rates and trends in FX as part of the company’s risk management and cash management.
- Manage the company’s debt model (external & internal debt arrangements) and ensure cash flow assumptions are maintained for effective cash management.
- Ensure the company remains compliant with internal debt arrangements, including transfer pricing and thin capitalisation policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree education, preferably from a Russell Group university
- ACA or ACCA qualification from a top audit firm
- Experience in a Group finance team performing consolidation
- Profound understanding of accounting standards (IFRS or GAAP) and hands-on experience with consolidating accounts from multiple entities
- Keen eye for detail to ensure the accuracy of complex financial data, reports, and the design of internal controls
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to address financial discrepancies, identify risks, and develop effective solutions
- Proficiency in using accounting software and tools to analyze large datasets, identify patterns, and present findings
