Job Title: Interim Finance ControllerLocation: CarlisleDuration: Fixed-Term Contract
We are looking for a highly experienced Interim Finance Controller to join our client’s finance team and take ownership of the finance function during a key period. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior finance professional to make an immediate impact, drive financial processes, and provide strategic insight.
Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day financial operations of the business
- Preparing accurate management accounts, financial reports, and KPI dashboards
- Leading month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and reporting
- Ensuring compliance with statutory and internal accounting policies
- Driving process improvements, implementing controls, and streamlining finance operations
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Acting as a key finance advisor to senior management and stakeholders
- Mentoring and supporting junior finance team members
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally as a Finance Controller or Senior Accountant
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with management reporting
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Confidence communicating complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders
- Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems; ERP experience is a plus
- Highly organised, proactive, and able to take ownership of key financial initiatives
