We are seeking a Financial Controller to oversee and consolidate all financial aspects of the business within Pimlico. You will be responsible for assessing the company’s financial performance, identifying risks, and evaluating investment opportunities.
The ideal candidate will be a reliable professional with broad knowledge of accounting, finance, and business principles. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical accounting skills, the ability to work across multiple finance functions, provide strategic oversight, and lead an effective team. Preferably with a wealth of finance knowledge in the building and services industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee day‑to‑day transactional finance functions.
- Lead and support the Finance/Accounting team, including hands‑on involvement with large volumes of transactional data.
- Drive financial planning by working with budgets, analysing performance, and assessing risk.
- Maintain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and highlight opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with the implementation and oversight of the company’s finance IT system.
- Review, analyse, and consolidate accounts for accurate reporting.
- Set targets and collaborate with accounting and finance associates.
- Oversee all audit and internal control operations.
- Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance (monthly, quarterly, annually).
- Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report findings to the executive team.
- Ensure compliance with financial laws, guidelines, and statutory returns.
- Manage adherence to national and international financial regulations.
- Proactively lead finance projects, including benefit reviews and payroll where applicable.
- Perform any other reasonable duties within your capabilities.
Experience & Qualifications
- Seasoned Financial Controller with proven senior‑level finance experience.
- Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).
- Strong technical accounting background with analytical and strategic ability.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel) and financial management software (Dynamics 365 advantageous).
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, and corporate finance principles.
- Commercially astute with in‑depth understanding of accounting laws and best practices.
