Accounts Payable Lead

Peterborough (3 Days per Week Onsite)

Veracious Talent Partners are supporting a large, well-established organisation as they continue to modernise their finance operations. As part of this journey, they are looking to appoint an Accounts Payable Lead who can help shape a more efficient, data-led and forward-thinking AP environment.

This role will suit someone who enjoys improving processes, strengthening controls and using data to influence better ways of working. The business is looking for someone who can bring fresh energy into the function and play a meaningful role in elevating how AP operates, while still remaining hands‑on in the day‑to‑day.

The Opportunity

As Accounts Payable Lead, you will:

  • Oversee and support a small AP team
  • Ensure invoices, expenses and payments are processed accurately and in line with internal controls
  • Drive continuous improvement across the P2P process
  • Use data and analytics to identify trends, gaps and opportunities
  • Strengthen governance, controls and compliance
  • Support team development and contribute to a high‑performance culture
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders across finance and operations

With ongoing investment into efficiency and automation, this is an ideal time to step in and make a tangible impact.

What You’ll Bring

We’re keen to speak with individuals who:

  • Have experience within Accounts Payable (ideally with supervisory or senior exposure)
  • Enjoy improving processes and introducing smarter, more efficient ways of working
  • Are confident using data to drive decisions (Excel/Power BI advantageous)
  • Bring energy, curiosity and a proactive mindset
  • Communicate well and can influence effectively across teams
  • Thrive in environments where modernisation and change are underway

Why Apply?

  • A genuine opportunity to modernise and improve a key finance function
  • Excellent exposure across a large and respected group with strong long-term progression opportunities
  • Three days a week on‑site in Peterborough
  • Salary of £40,000 – £50,000
