Senior Financial Accountant

Overview

A London market insurance carrier is recruiting for the newly created position of Senior Financial Accountant following a period of continued growth. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing complex financial reporting, ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. This will include aspects of financial accounting, internal controls, budgeting, and reporting. The role also involves participating in projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex financial reporting processes and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards (UK GAAP/FRS 102).
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Contribute to financial accounting, internal controls, budgeting, and reporting tasks.
• Participate in projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting requirements, in coordination with the UK Financial Controller.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountants with progressive accounting experience gained within an insurance business.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS 102.
• Understanding of UK corporate tax and VAT regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
