Finance Manager – Fashion & Retail

Overview

Finance Manager to join a fast-growing global fashion brand based in Manchester with offices in NYC and operations across e-commerce, retail and wholesale. You’ll lead the UK finance function, work closely with the Group Finance Director, and manage one direct report (Finance Assistant).

What you’ll be doing

• Preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and monthly reporting packs
• Overseeing day-to-day finance ops: AP, AR, payroll, and multi-currency bank reconciliations
• Managing and mentoring the Finance Assistant
• Ensuring UK compliance: tax, audit, statutory filings
• Handling stock, retail, e-commerce, and wholesale reconciliations
• Providing commercial insights and variance analysis
• Partnering with teams across retail, digital, and international offices (especially New York)
• Improving controls, processes, and finance systems

What we’re looking for

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Experience in retail, fashion or consumer goods (bonus if you know e-commerce or wholesale)
• Solid background in management accounting & financial reporting
• People management or mentoring experience
• Multi-currency & international ops knowledge is a plus
• Excel wizardry + ERP/finance systems confidence
• Strong communicator who’s organized, hands-on, and up for a challenge

The Details

• Location: Manchester HQ
• Salary: £55,000
• Reports to: Group Finance Director
• Direct Reports: 1 (Finance Assistant)
• Start Date: ASAP (but we’ll wait for the right person!)
