Finance Manager (Property & Assets)
James Andrews Recruitment Solutions Ltd is recruiting for a newly created permanent role with a Housing Association based in South Manchester. The position is located in Manchester, United Kingdom.
Salary: £49,900 – £55,400 per annum.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of effective reporting tools and financial data reports for the Property Services and Assets Teams to support the provision of good quality information for decision making.
- Contrast the results of stock condition surveys with Business Plan assumptions.
- Prepare and monitor long‑term budgets based on data from various sources including programme schedules and survey results.
- Support preparation of programme returns and grant claims to external partners, ensuring all data and explanations are adequately evidenced.
- Prepare fixed asset register and general ledger entries from the stock investment programme to ensure proper accounting of capital works costs and associated grants.
- Prepare budgets for Property Services, analysing different workstreams and agreeing recharges between DLO and the client to achieve value for money.
- Identify and drive improvements in processes that impact the financial performance of the repairs and maintenance service.
- Provide data analysis to support the preparation of financial benchmarking indicators.
- Support the Assistant Director of Finance to prepare reports, quarterly risk certificates and team performance statements.
Experience Required
- At least five years of experience in a general finance operation, including general ledger management.
- Experience preparing budgets, management accounts, statutory accounts and cash‑flow forecasts.
- Strong communication skills with proven experience presenting reports to executives.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Qualified accountant is desirable.
- Social housing experience is preferred but not essential.
- Qualified, Part‑Qualified or Qualified by Experience will be considered.
