Assistant Manager – External Audit

Based in Bishop’s Stortford, this hybrid role sits in a 40 person audit team within a supportive office of 100 staff.

You’ll oversee a varied client portfolio including SMEs, charities, academies, and larger groups, with 70% of your time spent on audit engagements and 30% on accounts prep and tax computations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead audit engagements, on-site and remotely
• Review files and coach junior staff
• Manage client relationships and resolve complex queries
• Ensure work is delivered to deadline and budget
• Contribute to ongoing team development and quality improvement

About You:

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Solid experience in external audit within a UK accountancy firm
• Confident with UK GAAP / FRS 102
• Comfortable mentoring junior staff and working directly with clients
• Knowledge of Caseware is a bonus
