Base Pay Range

  • Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Home
  • Location: Maidstone
  • Salary: £60,000 per annum (Once Ofsted Registered)
  • Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week, including some evenings/weekends as required)
  • Start Date: Upon successful Ofsted registration of the homes
  • Reports to: Responsible Individual / Director

About The Role

We are looking for a committed and experienced Registered Manager to oversee the launch and ongoing operation of our new Ofsted-registered Children’s Homes in Maidstone. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing organisation from the beginning, shaping high-quality residential care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing Ofsted registration and will lead the homes to deliver outstanding care, support, and positive outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the registration process with Ofsted and ensure the homes are fully compliant with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the homes, creating a nurturing and safe environment for young people.
  • Develop and maintain individualised care plans, ensuring that each child’s needs, rights, and dignity are prioritised.
  • Oversee safeguarding procedures and ensure all staff are fully trained and compliant.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team, fostering a positive and supportive working culture.
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders including local authorities, social workers, schools and healthcare providers.
  • Maintain robust systems for monitoring, evaluating and improving the quality of care.
  • Manage budgets, rotas, risk assessments and operational policies to ensure an efficient running of the homes.
  • Ensure the homes achieve and maintain a minimum Ofsted rating of “Good” or “Outstanding”.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a residential childcare setting within the past 5 years.
  • Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or management role within a children’s home.
  • Sound knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Ability to be registered with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.

  • Proven experience in managing children’s homes.
