Forensic/Clinical Psychologist role at TieTalent
Position details: Forensic/Clinical Psychologist. Salary: £60,000 p.a. Location: Hybrid, travel to Wiltshire (Melksham, Devizes and Salisbury). Employment type: Permanent. Hours: 37.5 per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to children and young people in 24/7 staffed environments, including those presenting with high-risk behaviours such as self-harm, aggression, or absconding.
- Carry out psychological assessments and develop formulations to guide care planning, ensuring integration of information from multiple agencies.
- Work within safeguarding frameworks, child protection procedures, and contribute to court-related processes as required.
- Deliver and adapt evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, trauma-focused CBT, EMDR, systemic approaches) in non-clinical settings to meet individual needs.
- Offer consultation and facilitate reflective practice sessions for residential care staff teams.
- Manage complex interpersonal situations, maintaining professional boundaries and promoting a supportive, therapeutic environment.
Qualifications and requirements
- Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with trauma histories and complex needs, or strong transferable skills.
- HCPC-registered Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist (or equivalent qualification), with post-doctoral expertise in applied psychology.
- Skilled in assessment and management of self-harm, risk, crisis, and safeguarding.
- Knowledge of therapeutic practices and sensory strategies, with a commitment to embedding therapeutic approaches.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to work independently with supervision support.
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
